Watching the sichuan charity show can evoke quite alot of emotions. Its really quite emotional to hear all the stories and see all the pictures regarding the earthquake.
There was this man who was trapped under rubble for days, and continued to live on because he longed so much to return home to his wife. Having been found by the rescue workers, he managed to make a phone call back to his wife. After 6 hours, they managed to release him from all the rubble, but on the way to the hospital, he stopped breathing..
There was this little girl whose body was retrieved from her collapsed school and in her fingers she was still tighly gripping a pencil. For people like her, they'll never have another day to attend school, to gain more knowledge.
And there's one more about a mother, who was found dead in a kneeling position. She was still protecting her child who remained asleep and very much alive after many days. And she left a message in the phone for her child. The power of love.. wow..
Really quite sad, we are really fortunate to be able to live peacefully everyday, with food, water, shelther and our families still around us. We should be thankful that we have the ability to attend school, to go to work and a safe home to return to everyday. Treasure each day. You'll never know which day a disaster might strike and you may never get to see your loved ones again...
On another note, my sister saw this on her friend's blog.

I think its really sweet to see old couples holding hands. I hope to be able to do that with my other half when we are both old and withering. To be able to hold hands and walk along the beach with the waves gently breaking on the sand and the sun setting in the background. how sweet...
