It's week 3 of school that doesn't feel like Week 3 because its starting to get busy busy busy...
had to ta bao lunch to eat in the IT lab to do fyp at the same time already.. oh no...
hmm and was in school everyday last week although i only have a 3-day week timetable... zzz.
and this week there's already 2 recruitment events...
and i think the weather is making me sick too.. sneezed non-stop and then it started pouring. haha. happened 2 times. was telling hp, my nose can predict rain. haha.
attended the Global Banks Networking Event last night with huiping and yuanfang. It's a networking event for final year and year 2 students with 5 major banks. So we first listened to talks from the banks then went around their "booths" to talk to people. I have to say I dont know how to network!! I had no idea what questions to ask and what to talk to them about... :(
Then Prof Lee saw us... he came over and encouraged us to talk to them. Like we should say, "Hello, My name is Elaine. Final year student in Business. Interested in blah blah, can you tell me more about blah blah..." And he told us ML is going to hire alot of people in operations this year, so we went to try our luck at ML first. haha. luckily, the guy who talked to us was quite friendly... phew... but he wasnt from operations. After awhile, he pointed to this lady who's in operations and LHS was talking to her!! and so, he helped us again by introducing us to her... haha. And the lady was super friendly! she's from NTU too.. and the culture at ML really seems friendly and fun.. hmm..
ok after that we decided to try CS. haha. and we saw LHS again.... his niceness is starting to get a little scary... hmm.. but anyway he introduced us to another of his ex-student in operations in CS again. So ya we asked a few questions etc... haha the questions we asked were repeated at all the banks. haha.
then later we decided to try Citi. hmm. they look unfriendly. didn't get a very good impression of citi... and heard that they are quite competitive etc etc too.. but our purpose was to kope their free notebooks. hehe.
oh, then we meet lionel and some other friends and he said the stand chart people are really friendly so we headed over to stand chart and started talking to this guy who was from NTU EEE. yeah, he's even friendlier than the ML lady. nice. haha. and he really sounded like he wanted us to be in the company too. haha. yeah. i like Stand Chart the best i think...
its really time to seriously think about what i want for my career. Yeah, need to find out more about the banking industry, I think my knowledge of the banking industry is really limited. yup, another networking event tonight. I dont like networking la.... and no yf and hp this time... have to go alone.... I try.... arghhh...
itchy nose itchy nose....argh.
and I dont like waking up alone to an empty house... feels lonely... nobody for me to talk to... :(
