day 1 at changi airport! too bad photo was blurrr and forgot to take at the departure gate..
rushing to reach the gate and to pour away our water before boarding haha.

yeah arrived in hk international airport! walked damn long to find places to eat. finally settled at BK. it was only on our way back to the boarding gate that we found that they actually had an internal train -.-

Finally reached Taoyuan at 415pm! zzz. Checked in at our first hotel!

Went around the area to have our own dinner. Tried the zhen zhu nai cha! Yums! the best I had in Taiwan, the guy made it without a machine and stirred everything himself. And he guessed that we are from Singapore. haha. Ate some egg omelette things and other street market stuff around the area.

Breakfast in the hotel! probably around 6am. And the sky is already so bright...

Going to take the high speed rail!

On to the Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall. Renamed as 自由广场 by Chen Shui bian. I think the guide said they're changing the name back. Complicated taiwan politics.

Next up, Yehliu geopark!
Famous for its unique rock formations. The most famous one is of the Queen's Head! No nice picture of the head in my camera though... haha.

Hp and her umbrella cos it was HOT!

my roomie for the trip! hehe. we have similar tastes thankfully!

The slipper! supposedly left by some fairy? or shen xian? and the candlesticks rocks. (the round round stones)

super nice scenery! wished we could have stayed longer there, but its a tour afterall... zzz. rushed off after having 20minutes of free n easy time?

on to Jiufen next! people fishing in the river! haha. showed the pic to my papa and he said when he was in Taiwan during army, they used to drive the trucks down to the riverside to wash them cos the river was so shallow...

Jiu fen's lao jie! and some weird uncle posing -.-

our 牛肉面!and 牛肉汤面!tang mian is without the meat!
its super yummy! haha but the guide said, the soup base isn't changed. Like since 40 years ago? abit gross, but that's where the flavour comes from..

picture of the street! ate quite alot there but most of the pictures of the yummy food are in chee ling's camera which i'm lazy to upload. haha. ate taiwan's famous chou tofu here! and some fishballs, prawnballs and of course lo ba peng and many many more!

went onto the suhua highway next. the highway goes up and down and winds round all the mountains. abit dizzying. but the views were stunning. my camera doesn't do justice to the views. not just this view too. many others...

arrived in Hualien and were brought to watched a fake Amei zu performance. It's by a dance troupe... not the real tribal people -.-

got dragged down to dance and they took a photo of us and sold it to us. it was ex lor...

at our hotel in hualien! with public computers for use! haha.
yeah sums up my day 1 and 2 in taiwan! more pictures another time. too many already.
work is starting on 1st june! ahhhhh hope all goes well! and shall enjoy my last week of break! :)
