Yeah! the 2010 Inaugural Youth Olympic Games has come to a close last night and I'm proud to say that I'm a part of it! :)
Being an usher at the Opening and Closing Ceremonies is not easy! When DT first asked for volunteers, I think we were quite excited that we can take part in the YOG. But when we had to go for numerous trainings and got warned for missing trainings, we were quite pissed off. But eventually when everything ended last night, I felt quite sad and I miss the YOG already!
I must be crazy, haha wads there to miss for being wiping chairs due to the rain, burning under the sun, moving interactive kits up and down the float and for getting scolded by spectators and still having to SMILE. but, I miss all the fellow ushers, seeing the spinning vortex flame and listening to the yog songs! I can almost sing along to the 3 yog songs and also the olympic anthem -.- and most importantly, when the IOC chairman thanked the volunteers, people turned around to us and said thank you! and when they were leaving, people actually came to take photos with us and said thank you for a job well done! made be very happy and proud to be a volunteer! and the scolding by this spectator last night felt like nothing! haha.
60 hours of being a volunteer and the numerous friendships made! maybe we'll see each other around the office!
good job to Singapore for delivering the 2010 YOG well! :)
very tired after wiping thousands of chairs!

all the interactive kits that we painstakingly carried up! this was at the Opening Ceremony..

and the friendships formed! Wan Xin, Fahrul, Janice and all the other yellow sector ushers :)
